What is Eczema?

Eczema is a general term for multiple skin diseases that can leave your baby or toddler with a rash and extremely dry, red, inflamed, and irritated skin. Many times the term atopic dermatitis is used interchangeably with the word eczema. Baby eczema and toddler eczema can be mild to severe and is generally triggered by environmental allergies or food allergies. Childhood eczema is usually outgrown, but it may last into adulthood as well.

We know it can be extremely difficult to watch your baby scratch their delicate, sweet skin, but know that you are not alone. Eczema affects 10-20% of children around the world. As parents we can only be there to support our eczema children and to learn from one another.
