Documenting Hope

The Eczema Company donates 1% of our monthly sales to Documenting Hope.

Although it is difficult to talk about and even more difficult to imagine, childhood chronic illnesses are reaching a tipping point. Current statistics are startling: 10% of American children have ADD/ADHD, 1 in 50 are autistic, 10-20% have eczema, and 1 in 8 children have asthma. These numbers continue to increase every year along with the medical costs associated with them. Unfortunately, in many cases the current health care model looks to suppress and manage these illnesses rather than cure them, causing the need for a more functional, integrative, holistic solution for our children.

Jennifer Roberge, owner of the The Eczema Company, has been a longtime supporter of the project that is focused on documenting the healing journeys of children with chronic illnesses. As a mother who has spent years researching and treating her son’s eczema, allergies and asthma, she’s honored to partner with a project that has set out to prove these illnesses are both preventable and curable.

What is Documenting Hope?

Documenting Hope is a revolutionary program that will demonstrate that recovery from childhood chronic illnesses is possible, by:

  • Running a pilot recovery program (with 14 chronically ill children)
  • Documenting their recovery scientifically (collecting relevant biomarkers and observational data)
  • Capturing their inspirational stories on film
  • Disseminating these shared learnings to everyone

Documenting Hope is sponsored by Epidemic Answers, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The project will enroll 14 children in a healing and recovery program that will span 18 months.  The children’s recovery journey will be documented on film and weaved into a powerful feature-length film that will provide an exposé on the environmental origins of the epidemics of autism, ADHD/ADD, asthma, allergies and other conditions skyrocketing in children.  The Project will demonstrate that these conditions can often be reversed using cutting-edge healing modalities.

Although this project will touch on healing eczema, asthma and allergies, many of the children in the recovery program are suffering from illnesses such as autism, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and mood disorders.

This program is unlike anything out there and we at The Eczema Company are anxious to help put an end to the rise in childhood illness.
